New Baby Days

One of the best things about baby Ivy is that she slept a lot those first few days; as most newborns do. It gave Mommy a chance to rest a little bit and gave her brothers and sister time to adjust to her presence. She loves her swing, which is a lifesaver for Mommy.
Ohh... I love the first few sounds, garbles, and noises you tried to make. You are a pretty talkative baby.
Sleeping away
Daddy loves to snuggle with you.
Proud as ever!
Catching up on your beauty sleep
You are good at sleeping pretty much anywhere, including your boppy, car seat, stroller, backpack, and at night you sleep in your bed.
I love this pretty face
Snuggled up tight
Telling Dad a story
Look at how small your feet are in comparison to Daddy's hand....
So tiny.

Ivy's First Bath

A few days after bringing you home we decided to try giving you a bath. As you can see your face knows something funny is going on you just don't know what. All 4 of my children have hated, HATED their first bath. It involves a lot of screaming, and Mommy trying to wash you up as fast as I can, to get you out of the tub, and into warm cozy jammies.
Trying to clean under your little neck rolls
Holy Cow you were mad!
You were so small in your over sized towel.Which you promptly peed on before I got a new diaper on you.
Trying to dry you off.
Please hurry with the lotion Mom!
Clean, Dry, and working on a full tummy. You life again is good! Since your first bath, you've had many more which you have come to really enjoy. Lola likes to help give you a bath and pours water on you to get you clean.

Welcome Home Ivy

You look so tiny in your car seat!
Wyatt was so excited to hold you. He couldn't wait for us to get you out.Holding new babies is always tough but it is even more tough when your only 3. Wyatt does a good job though and is always careful of her neck.Lola is your best friend. She has smothered you with kisses since your arrival home. You both love each other very much!
As you can see she is a very proud Big Sister. You like to look around in your car seat and just sit back and watchAfter you'd been home for about 20 minutes the "newness" wore off for Wyatt and Lola. They were more interested in the treats. They do however always like to keep you close so you can see what they are doing.

Hospital Day 2

Day 2 in the hospital included as much sleep as Mommy and Daddy could get. You were loud the night before and woke up a lot. You finally fell asleep toward the early morning; Daddy was sleeping in this chair. He leaned it back a little too far and in the middle of the night fell out and tipped the chair over. Even with my hurt stomach I couldn't help but laugh, a lot!Snoozin Away...
It took you a little while to get a hang of the nursing thing. So for the first few days we gave you formula which you took to fairly well. Here is mommy trying to get you to burp.
I love this picture because you look so unsure of what is going on in your life.
Trying to tell Mommy you're hungry
You like to be upright. When I burp you, or hold you, you like to be up and at'em. When your tired you will snuggle but most of the time you like to be in the mix of whats going on.
Getting ready for a snooze again...
... and again.....
trying to decide whether to wake up or not.
Chillin with Daddy
You managed to scratch up your face a few times in those first few days. And were a little swollen and red; never the less always beautiful.
Mommy's Kisses!
Trying to catch some ZZZ's. One of my favorite things is sleeping with new babies. You were so cuddly, and warm, and content. I love it!
Sleeping Away, and getting ready for a 2nd loud night.
