Funny Story

The other day Evan was watching TV and saw a commercial for Nintendo DS. He of course said that he had to have it. Well we told him we didn't think he needed one. Well he said Santa would get it for him. We asked him what happens if Santa doesn't get it for you? He thought for a minute and said "I guess it means I'm on the naughty list." It was so sad, cute, and funny all at the same time. We then took the opportunity to explain to him that Santa doesn't give us everything all the time; and that he has lots of children to give presents to and that we need to be grateful for what we have. Still a cute story though.

Kids Say the Darndest Things

Earlier this summer we did a lot of swimming. I took the kids to the pool, and Russ took them to Recapture dam. A few weeks ago, we were sitting at the dinner table talking about the swimming pool and how we couldn't go anymore because it was closed due to the colder weather. Well Evan thought about the pool closing for a minute and then asked in his most innocent voice "Dad, when can we go to the dam swimming pool again?" Of course Russ and I giggled and He didn't get what was so funny but he noticed he got attention out of it so for the next few minutes he kept asking when we could go back to the dam swimming pool.
That same night we were talking about President Monson for FHE. We showed Wyatt a picture of the prophet and asked him who is was hoping he would remember the lesson. He proudly spoke up and declared that is was President Monster.

I love my for kids for all they say and all they do. Thanks for keeping me laughing all the time.

Halloween 2010

Halloween is a true favorite at our house. The boys are geared up all month long and even I get super excited for costumes, parties, and trick or treating. Evan was Spider Man, I was a Witch, Wyatt was a dinosaur, and Lola was a lady bug. The night we actually went trick or treating it felt like there was a tornado brewing so Lola stayed at a friends house while we went trick or treating.
Evan and Wyatt with their cousins and friends getting ready to go trick or treating. The wind was blowing so hard so this is the only photo of them that I got outside. I left the camera at home because it started to rain soon after we started.
Lola looked so cute I couldn't help but snap a photo.
Lola, 2 minutes later. She has got quite the lungs on her. The boys had such a great time trick or treating we went the farthest we've ever gone this year and the wind and rain didn't dampen their spirits one bit. We are still eating candy from that night with quite a few more pieces to go.
On Halloween we had our annual gross food pig out, and this was one of the things I made this year. It is a bleeding brain, made out of jello and pureed strawberries. We also had bread stick fingers, sheep head, mummy dogs, witches brew, and a few others.

Lola's Many Looks

It is cold outside!
This story again....

Too Cool
Blah...Blah...Blah

Lola's First Laugh

I finally did it... I made one of my babies laugh for the first time. In Navajo tradition when a baby laughs the person who makes her laugh throws her a party. We had a great time and I got to hear the first laugh from Lola and it made me feel great! We were playing patty cake when it happened; she loves to smile and laugh when you clap her hands together. This was the actual day that it happened: October 14, 2010Here is the day of her party. Those are spider webs in the back, the house was decorated for Halloween. The baby has to put salt on each of the foods as a blessing.
It is said if you don't the baby will be grumpy and stingy for the rest of her life. We're not super traditional but it is fun to have get togethers and to celebrate all those firsts.

She is kind of a funny baby, in the fact that she really is cautious with giving away her smiles and giggles too freely. She's a happy kid but most of the time looks very thoughtful. After I made her laugh the first time it was about 3 more weeks before she did it again. She is starting to laugh a little more but she really makes you work for it. Hopefully we have lots of more laughs and giggles to come. There is nothing more sweet or pure than the laugh of a brand new baby.

Family Photos 2010

I love newborn photos! Here are some of the pictures from our family photo shoot this year. I love my kids so of course there are a lot of pictures. Enjoy!

Wyatt Age 2

Evan Age 4

Lola 2 Weeks

Of course she cried the most of the time. I've never had a newborn who liked to be naked. As soon as we wrapped her up she went right to sleep and was able to "smile" pretty.
