Standing

So this may not be so interesting to EVERYONE but Moms and Grandmas love new milestones. Wyatt has started standing, he is really pretty good about it now but when these were taken, it was the first day that he could really stand up long enough for us to catch a picture. Almost. Wyatt standing by himself
Mommy trying to entice him to stand up. Evan wanted to document the event with his camera as well. Good Job Kiddo! Close Up :)
Dad trying to entice him to stand.
Evan smiling big for the camera. He's trying to show off his funny face.

Puppy Wyatt

Here is the sweet, not so innocent puppy.....
.....and here is the chew toy!
I took Wyatt into his room the other day and turned on the light to change his diaper. After changing him I was looking around and started to notice little nics out of his crib. I kept looking around the edge of his bed and figured out that those little nics are teeth marks. My baby has been teething on his crib at night! He is getting more teeth so this totally makes sense, but I don't want him to swallow any of the pieces or hurt his stomach. Any ideas???

Big VS Little

Roxy stayed at our house last weekend while her family went away on vacation. The boys thought is was so fun to have a little dog to play with. Roxy isn't quite potty trained yet so when we couldn't be there to watch her a 100% we would put her in the bathroom with the baby gate up. Evan decided it would be funny to put her in the tub. She however had another idea, she hated the tub and would scratch, climb, and try to gnaw her way out. After convincing Evan that she didn't belong in the tub she was a much happier puppy. Our dogs are really pretty used to having "visitors" stay over at our house. Usually the're very accommodating. There is a pretty big size difference between our dog (Vegas) and Roxy. Our big dogs just didn't know what to do with her and after about 20 minutes were ready to move on to something else.
Twenty minutes after that they were annoyed with the fact that she was around and ready for her to go home. Luckily they are willing to put up with a lot and tolerated her the rest of the weekend. They weren't mean to her just frustrated that they had to be careful with her.

BBQ

Last weekend we got together and had a BBQ outside. The weather was great, (a little windy, but as is a Blanding spring) the food was fabulous, and so was the company. That morning we had cut Wyatt's hair so this was the first time they had seen it. They were all enthused, because most of Russ' family had been threatening to cut it for weeks.
Turner, Summer, Nali, Wyatt, Jenn, Leilani
Russell's family seeing Wyatt with the new cut. Evan playing in the dirt. He wanted to climb up the hill all by himself. Leilani stood by for "just in case," he was able to make it up all the way by himself. He was so proud.
At the top with Nizhonii and Makaeli
This is the cutest! At the top of the hill the dirt was a little wet and the girls had gone up it so many times that it was really pretty slippery. Evan knew this because he had just made it to the top. Well Leilani starts to climb up the hill and started to slip a little at the top. Evan runs over and says "Lani grab my hand and I'll help you!" He then helped pull her up to the top. It was the cutest thing I'd ever seen. He really is so helpful, and Leilani was a good sport to allow him to help. And of course the ride back down the hill. This was the best part, and maybe the only reason why the kids climbed to the top was to slide back down. Needless to say the backside of those pants were brown for about 3 wash cycles.

Wyatt's 1st Haircut

We finally did it. We cut his baby hair. Traditionally your not supposed to cut a babies hair till after their 1st birthday, then you're supposed to shave it all off. They do it to help hair growth in the future, as far as I know. Well with Evan we waited till about 9 mo and then it was driving us crazy so we cut it. With Wyatt I just couldn't; not necessarily for traditional reasons but his hair is just the soft baby hair, and it is just special to me because it makes him my baby. Well it was hanging clear into his eyes and really starting to bug him so we caved and CUT IT OFF on Saturday. This is the before....It actually goes quite a ways down his back. The first cut. I pulled it back into a pony tail and cut the pony tail off. (We've decided to keep the pony tail for his baby book. ) I almost cried. It was so sad for me, but he loves his new haircut too. He did so well he held still, didn't cry, and just watched while we cut it. I only had a hard time around his ears. This is the finished product. We buzzed it mostly because I didn't know how well he'd do with the whole thing so I wanted something fast and quick. He actually did so well I think we might let the top grow long and keep the sides short from now on, at least for awhile so he can have his mo-hawk back.
The back.
Look at my tonsils!!
My favorite part of his new haircut is you can see his face and his gorgeous eyes.
The brush was a big help in keeping him distracted from the buzzer.
Evan's Haircut Evan also had a haircut. He does not do well. We've tried everything from holding him, letting him cut part of Dad's hair, putting the buzzer on his arm showing him it doesn't hurt, to cutting it with scissors thinking maybe the sound bothered him, all to no avail he still hates getting a haircut. This is the reason why he always gets a quick and easy buzz cut because he'll only tolerate it for about 3 minutes before he goes ballistic.
Trying to be brave......
.....totally breaking down.....
....and the finished product. As you can see he is not a happy camper. Luckily, thanks to M&M's, he was over it in 30 seconds and we'll try again next month. In the end it turned out really good. I love Wyatt's haircut, everyone says it makes him look older which was what I was afraid of. I didn't want to cut his babyhair because to me it symbolizes the transition from babyhood to toddler. He did make a good transition and he is growing up so it was time. He looks so cute, either way. I love my boys what else can I say.
