The Rez

Wyatt, Chee, Evan, and Great Grandma Yazzie

This past weekend my Dad took us to see my Grandma who lives on the Rez near Chaco Canyon. I love going to my Grandma's house it is probably one of my most favorite places on Earth. It is so peaceful, quiet, and I feel rejuvenated when we leave. Usually we go in the summer time and it is nice and warm. This time we went a little early and it was windy and cold. We still had a good time none the less. Chee, Evan, and Wyatt.
Thanks for taking us Chee we had a great time!

Chee bought Evan a remote control car while we were down in Cuba getting wood. Evan loved it. He chased it around until the battery went out.
Evan in front of Grandma's Hogan. Grandma's Hogan is in the back. There is an addition in the front for storage.
Evan eating some nanaskada, potatoes, and SPAM. One of my favorite things about Grandma's house is the food.
Wyatt and Mom inside Grandma's hogan.
My uncle Curtis and Joshua. The 2nd day we were there we went to go get wood for my Grandma. All of us loaded into about 4 trucks and brought back 4 loads of wood. hopefully that will keep them stocked for awhile. Needless to say it was cold, so Wyatt and I sat in the truck most of the time.

Curbing

Wyatt is getting to the age where he is starting to be able to pull himself up onto furniture and try to walk around a little bit. He is really good at pulling himself up, but once he gets there he doesn't know what do to, gets a little scared, and hangs on to the furniture like his life depends on it. We've tried to help him learn to sit back down, but he still just doesn't think that the floor will catch him. Poor guy, I want him to practice and keep trying but it is hard to watch him get a little scared. As you can see by the picture below he is not impressed.
I know it just takes time and practice and before long he'll be taking his first steps. But for now I'm enjoying watching him learn and grow. I don't want him to grow up too fast. I want to enjoy each stage as it comes.

Working Out

Evan loves to work out. Whenever Russell and I exercise, Evan always wants to participate. He loves to do squats, crunches, and push ups the best. We recently got a treadmill and spent a couple of weekends ago setting it up. Evan helped put it together, so naturally when we finished he wanted to see what it actually did. We showed him how to work it and now he can operate it himself. Just to let you know he is always supervised and we're right there to catch him if he falls. The first time he was slow and safe and had fun just trying it out.
But.... the past few days he's gotten braver and likes to run; which makes me nervous because I'm afraid he'll slide right off the back. I think he's going to be our little runner, whether on the treadmill or not he never walks, always runs, and loves to do it.

Roxy

Summer's family just recently got a new puppy named "Roxy" she is a little minature pinscher, only 8 weeks old. She is super cute, and we love her so much. Wyatt and Roxy. They really like each other, probably because they are about the same size. We're trying to teach Wyatt to be soft. We have big dogs at our house so he's not used to having to be soft.
Roxy likes to jump up on Wyatt and Wyatt keeps pushing her back down. For the most part they are really compatible but Wyatt sometimes likes her eyes too much. He likes to poke them.
Roxy checking out the camera.

Evan and Roxy. He tries so hard to be soft with her, and does an awesome job. They like to chase each other. Evan is used to our dogs that have to be gentle with our kids because they are so big, so it has been fun for them to play with a puppy so small.

How Old???

Happy Birthday Mom! We love you. (turn your volume way up)

I took this video on Friday and left my camera at Summer's over the weekend so I'm sorry it is a little late.
