Little Girls Are So Much Fun

Having only had little boys I've never got to do the dress up thing, don't get me wrong boy clothes are fun but little girls get to accessorize. I've had fun playing dress up with her, however some days she'd rather not play with me. Here are some photo's over the last few weeks to see how she's changed, and to show off some of her fun little outfits. I can't believe how long she is. She has got long legs and arms

Such a precious face

Looking Beautiful

Lately this is her favorite look as we are going through a fussy stage. Also she's not a big fan of the headbands or bows either.

Hangin out with Grandma fresh out of the bath. I can tell because her hair isn't chushy
Snoozing away while mom is trying to feed her

Summer Fun

When Evan was about 2 years old my mom bought him a slip and slide for his birthday. Evan is now 4 and this is the first summer we've used it. I wish we would have taken it out a long time ago because the kids have had a blast playing with it this year. They are still a little hesitant about going on their own so the first time Dad decided to help them out. Wyatt and Daddy going down the hill.
There is a little pool at the bottom. It is a kids slip and slide so of course every time Russ went down it he overflowed the pool. The kids loved it though, because Dad would get super wet with the cold hose water and they got the ride without getting too wet or cold.

Wyatt trying to avoid getting water on his face :)
The slip and slide has water coming out from the side to keep the slide wet and the kids did love to run through that. Here is Wyatt "freezing" because he'd just run through the water.

First Bath

Lola had her first bath 2 days after coming home, this is the before photo. Just chilling, happy, and not stressed. Giving our kids their first bath has always been tricky and loud. Our children don't like being naked or wet until about 2 to 3 months of age. Lola is no different. As you can see she hated being undressed. She hated being wet. We gave her a sponge bath because her cord stump was still connected. And here is everyone watching and taking pictures. The boys are really trying to help out. Wyatt kept sprinkling water on her face and hair. Evan did stay back and watch with grandma which was nice. I love that he is old enough to follow instructions. After her bath; we dressed her back up and after a few cuddles and a warm blanket she was back to normal; which for her is happy, but as you could see she wouldn't take her eyes off dad for awhile. She is so cute and loves to cuddle. She's had a ton of baths since then and is getting better about bathing, but she still isn't happy about it. I love to brush her hair when she gets out, having a little girl is so much fun.

Happy Birthday Lola

Lola was born on a Friday afternoon after 16.5 hours of labor. Which let me tell you is no easy feat. My water broke on Thursday night and we headed out to Shiprock, NM which is 2 hours away to check into the hospital. We were a little stressed because Evan's labor was so quick that we were worried about making the trip. She was delivered in NM because that is the closest facility to Blanding that will allow a VBAC. Upon arrival my contractions were 2-4 minutes apart and I was excited because I thought we would be meeting her soon thereafter. I know this is not the most flattering shot but It was the first one of her. In my face you can see joy and love but also a "little" exhaustion. As the morning progressed however my labor slowed and toward early afternoon I was given PIT to help my labor along. It took more PIT then they expected to get my labor to go and I was so stressed about having to have another c-section because I was just not progressing.Around 2:00 I finally started to progress to a 10 and was able to try to get her out. Luckily that part went quickly and before I knew it she was on my chest crying her little heart out, which to me is the best sound when having a baby. She of course is perfect. 10 fingers and 10 toes and lots of hair. She looks a lot like me as a baby, and is growing into her skin with a little chub each and every day. I was so relieved, excited, exhausted, and full of love when I saw her for the first time. Having a new baby is the most uplifting and gratifying experience that I think we as people will ever have in our lives. At least it is for me. She has had a hold on my heart long before she came out; but seeing her for the first time has left an imprint upon my heart that will last forever. Already she has daddy wrapped around her little finger. She's already figured that out and uses it to her advantage when she can.Russ and I stayed in the hospital for 1 day and then decided to come home. I was really looking forward to recovering in my own space. Bringing her home was fun, probably the funniest and most embarrassing part is that Russ and I forgot how to put the car seat in the car and ended up waiting for about 45 minutes in the parking lot while Russ and I fought about how to get it in. Evan and Wyatt welcoming Lola to our home for the first time. She has them wrapped around their fingers as well. They love to give her tons of kisses and loves; and can't wait for her to get a little bigger so they can play with her more. As of now they give kisses, sing to her, and watch her in her swing. They also help burp her and throw away her dirty diaper which is a great help to mom. Wyatt loves to hold her but is still pretty small himself so he needs help, which he does not like to accept. When she came home his reaction has been ever welcoming and he says she is cute and loud.
Evan can hold her on his own with close supervision. He loves to hold her, and sings to comfort her when she cries. I love his big heart and love to watch him care for her. We brought her home on Saturday and he went to church on Sunday with my mom. While in primary he was asked what he thought about his new sister and he said the she was gorgeous. He has quite the vocabulary for a 4 year old and he loves to use his big words to impress others. But that day he got it right. Lola is GORGEOUS.

Lola we love you so much and are so glad that you came into our family. You have already blessed our home and family so much. I love watching you grow and explore your new world each and everyday. Thank you for choosing to bless our family with your presence.

July 24th Celebration

Our 24th of July celebration is held in Monticello every year. We usually go up for at least part of it. This year we went to the parade, and then to the park to look at the booths and do lunch, after we went swimming at their new pool. We had a great time. The boys waiting for the parade to start. We got there a little late so the sidewalks were really full. After the parade started they mostly stood in the gutter and road to wave at the floats and collect pockets and pockets full of candy. At the park the kids played at on the toys. Evan going down the "baby" slide. As soon as Evan saw the toys he ran over and climbed up the monkey bars and let go of the side. He quickly figured out he couldn't hold his weight for very long and fell onto the wood chips on the ground. Luckily he was fine, but he sure milked it for quite a while. Russ and I were really surprised because he's never done the monkey bars before and usually he's not that daring. They also had some blow up toys the kids could play on this year. Wyatt had a blast and went over and over. Evan is about to go down the slide after climbing up the ropeWyatt running through the punching bagsI love this face! Monticello has an old jail cell that is outside at their park. The kids liked pretending to be locked up.
